My girlfriend Maria sent me a photo of Murano, Italy after one of her trips.   I had been there years ago, and gotten sunlit photos, but just not the one to paint.  She got the exact view that I wanted, but on a less sunny day, which was the challenge.  So, I painted on this here and there for the past couple of years, determined to rescue it from the junk pile...and finally it makes me happy.  (It's for Maria...hope it makes HER happy too!)

I have always loved painting these trees; they demand immediacy and impressionism!
